Volunteers are essential to the success of the EGHS Band Program. Please consider giving your time to one or many of our many volunteer opportunities. More information on volunteering will be posted via social media.
Help is needed at concerts with ticket sales and program distribution. If you are able to help at the Fall Music Showcase, Holiday Concert, Percussion Madness, Jazz Showcase, Spring Band Concert and/or the Spring Orchestra Concert, please contact Kathy Rogers. Many volunteers are needed!
Home Football Games
Volunteers are needed to assist in moving the Marching Grenadiers percussion equipment from the band room to the football stadium end zone, onto the field for the halftime performance, back to the end zone for the remainder of the game, and finally back to the band room after the game. Plumes also need to be distributed before the game, and put away afterwards. Coolers of bottled water and music stands also need to be brought to the stadium, and then back to the band room after the game is over.
If you're interested in helping, please contact Debra Paris, or just show up the night of any home game at 6PM in the band room.
Many helpers are needed to load equipment, uniforms, and food for meals onto rental trucks. Once arriving at the destination, help is again needed in unloading the truck. After the performance, the truck needs to be reloaded. Plumes need to be collected and packed. Following most competitions a meal is served to the students. Help is needed with distributing the food to the kids, and cleaning up. Once all this is done, the truck is driven back to the school where the equipment is once again unloaded and put away.
Since a lot of help is needed for this type of event, emails are generally sent out requesting volunteers.
